GRE Waiver Request Form

Applicants applying to the Master's degree in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies must submit a valid GRE result or be approved for a GRE waiver. To be considered for a GRE Waiver you must complete the form below and provide the requested supporting documentation through the Document Upload below.

Please Note - The GRE has automatically been waived for master's applicants through 2026. Please do not complete this form if you are a master's applicant. All you need to do is submit a graduate application and the GRE requirement will automatically be waived.

Which program are you applying to?

The GRE waiver is not available for the Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies Online Ed.D. program. To be eligible for the GRE waiver, you must apply to the on-campus program.

GRE Waiver Request Criteria

Select the criteria for your waiver request.

5 years of professional experience as an instructional designer and a 3.0 (or better) upper-division undergraduate GPA from an accredited institution.

A completed Master’s, JD, MD, or PhD degree with a 3.0 (or better) GPA from a North American accredited institution.

Completion of 9 graduate credit hours of a graduate certificate from the ISLT program with a graduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Instructions: Briefly explain in the space below how you meet at least one of the criteria. In the case of work experience, please describe your relevant work experience.

Applicants will be contacted via e-mail with a decision on the waiver request after department review. Approval of the GRE Waiver does not guarantee admission to the program. Prospective students must still submit and complete a Graduate Application and meet all university and department admissions requirements to be considered for admission.
